A story of connection and progress

Our approach to outdoor personal development is based on values dear to human beings, living things, and nature.

Almaval’s share capital is held entirely by clinicians.

Alma

the soul, that which nourishes

In archaic Italian, Alma means soul. In Latin, alma means "nourishing", as in alma mater. Caring for mental health means caring for the whole person and what nourishes them.

Valens

strength, health

Valens comes from the Latin valere: to be strong, to be in good health. It is the courage to ask for help, and the strength of a team of clinicians moving forward with each person, at their own pace.

Almaval

strong soul, courageous mind

Almaval’s values

The Almaval Centre wishes to be recognised by both its employees and its partners as a competent, open, thorough, and meticulous healthcare facility. Its values are freedom, autonomy, and responsibility. They guide how we provide care, collaborate, and organise ourselves, respecting individual dignity, gender equality, and privacy.

The Almaval centre's company shares are 100% held by clinicians: those who provide care are also those who carry responsibility for the centre.

Almaval has chosen not to depend on private investors or bank loans: this independence guarantees its freedom of decision-making and allows it to develop progressively and solidly, thanks to the commitment of its team. A commitment that Almaval wishes to reward by focusing on excellence in everything it chooses, in order to offer a high-quality professional environment to all its staff.

Freedom

Thinking, expressing oneself, and choosing one's way of providing care, with respect for all.

Autonomy

Organize one's work and develop one's practice, within a collaborative team.

Responsibility

Towards patients, colleagues, and the centre, through rigor and commitments kept.

Objectives

The primary aim, both human and professional, is the medico-psychological support and therapy of patients in the areas of mental, physical, and social health, as well as personal, professional, sports, and nutritional development. This is achieved thanks to medical, paramedical, alternative, and complementary medicine specialists, in the socio-professional and sports fields.

Professionals at Almaval centres operate in Switzerland for on-site and online consultations with people living both in Switzerland and abroad. Through its services:

01

Almaval promotes

the stabilisation of the mental health of minors, adults and seniors in need of help, care, treatment, support and advice.

02

Almaval supports

maintaining independence, or the return to independence, fostering autonomy through personalised and educational support.

03

Almaval contributes

to the continuing education of its staff and to the quality of life of those who place their trust in the services offered.

04

Almaval provides

concrete support for families as well as relatives of individuals seeking help or specialised outpatient care.

Our missions

The primary mission of the centres Almaval is the care of any person affected in a çtemporarily or chronically in their mental health.
The second mission is the training of healthcare professionals and research in the same fields, in collaboration with various academic and private institutions. For authorities, municipalities, and institutions: Almaval for authorities and institutions.

Our manifesto

Let us face it: mental health is at the heart of our lives and is finally receiving the attention it deserves. It holds infinite richness, a precious complexity that opens up horizons.

In this field, we wish to shift boundaries and dispel clichés.

We make the commitment to work together, to exchange, to co-construct care through connection, mutual listening, and resonance, striving for prevention and awareness. For care extends far beyond an outstretched hand or a listening ear.

Together, we dare to rewrite the rules to legitimize each individual's freedom to express themselves fully. While upholding scientific rigor, academic references, and the ethical rules of our professions.

We build bridges between our practices; we enrich each other through reciprocal methods and skills in order to learn from experience and clinical evidence to provide the most effective care possible.

We are creating a living ecosystem to stimulate learning and develop skills collectively. Why? Because we know that well-being is an evolving and collective endeavor.

We offer a trusted place where one can go through what one is experiencing, be supported, without wandering. A space where imposition gives way to proposals, where ready-made answers no longer exist, in order to foster self-determination and self-reflection.

We are a care system, a sensitive intelligence, made up of human beings and diverse perspectives. While well-being and health are at the heart of our ambition, we strive to ensure they are at the heart of everyone’s priorities.

We hope to achieve this goal together, so that every mind can rediscover its true nature.

Our organizational chart

Two boards govern the centre, three departments carry out its activity, and two transversal functions connect everything on a daily basis. The organisation chart shows them at a single glance.

Explanations

Authority

A responsibility that covers the entire institution. There are three:

  1. Relational and mentoring. Driven by proximity.
  2. Decision-making. Borne at the strategic level by executive management, convened as the Board of Directors, and at the executive level by operations, under delegation from executive management.
  3. Framework authority. Carried out at the strategic level by management, which establishes the framework, and at the operational level by local leadership, which embodies, reminds, and explains it.

Cross-functional role

A cross-cutting function that works with all three departments at once, and is therefore not categorised under any of them. There are two:

  1. Operations. They coordinate services with one another and arbitrate cross-cutting operational issues, by delegation from management.
  2. Proximity. It supports people closely in their daily work, at each site, and conveys their needs to management.

Department

A grouping of activities according to what they serve. There are three:

  1. Care. It serves the patient.
  2. Administrative. It serves the daily operations of the centre.
  3. Resources and Development. It serves the future of the institution.

Each department is divided into services, and each service into units.

Ethics and social responsibility

Ethics and social responsibility are central values for creating and maintaining a sustainable organization. We are aware of the need to maximize our positive impact on society (creating added value through our work, providing products and services that meet the real needs of the community, participating in the community, acting sustainably by respecting the environment) and to minimize our negative impact on society (by limiting pollution, by listening to and addressing dissatisfaction, and by implementing quality measures to minimize potential errors).
