Amandine Laporte
Psychologist in neuropsychology training FSP / ASNP
After obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical and Cognitive Psychology from the University of Geneva in 2017, I embarked on a MAS (Advanced Studies Diploma) in Neuropsychology, which I am about to complete, with the goal of obtaining a federal title in neuropsychology. I worked as a trainee neuropsychologist at HUG (Geneva University Hospitals), at Beau-Séjour in neurorehabilitation, where my activities involved developing a blog/forum for the patients of the department and providing care for adult patients with acquired brain injuries who had returned home. I then worked at CHUV (Lausanne University Hospital), still in the field of neurorehabilitation, where I participated in the neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation of hospitalized adult patients with brain injuries. My journey in psychiatry began in 2019 at Belle-Idée (HUG), where I conducted neuropsychological assessments primarily for diagnostic purposes in elderly individuals. In 2020, for a period of three years, I worked in a large private institution for psychiatry and psychotherapy, where I conducted neuropsychological assessments aimed at identifying individuals’ cognitive strengths and weaknesses, taking into account their life experiences, personal and family history, and daily life difficulties. In this clinical context, I was involved in the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as cognitive remediation. With a particular interest in autism, I received training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), a method for assessing ASD in children and adults, and I am now qualified to conduct such assessments. During my neuropsychological assessments, regardless of the type of request, I am committed to considering the patient as a unique individual and addressing their overall issues, accompanying them in gaining a better understanding of their functioning.
